Horse Hill

The next phase of planning for the Horse Hill area is underway. The Area Structure Plan (ASP) was approved in March 2013, enabling work to begin on the next phase of planning, the Neighbourhood Structure Plans (NSP). The NSPs are completed in stages, and involve more detailed planning than what is provided for in the ASP.

The Horse Hill area will be a vibrant community, eventually home to more than 70,000 residents, with an integrated network of diverse public parks and open spaces connected to the North Saskatchewan River valley, ravines, and other natural features of the area. Six elementary schools, two high schools, and a recreation centre with playfields are proposed. It is the first community in Edmonton to integrate urban agriculture, and provide opportunities for community gardens, edible landscaping, and farmers’ markets.
